New Students
New customers should fill out our Online Registration Form. This will allow you to set up your parent portal and enroll in recreational classes if you sign up for EFT (Autopay) in the process.
Registration
EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 1ST, 2024: all families will be charged an annual registration fee of $40. This will recur each year on September 1st for returning families. New families starting after April 1st will be charged a pro-rated membership fee of $20. New families receive 20% off their first Pro-Shop purchase (must be used before or on the day of their very first class - valid for a one time use only). Previous members who are no longer current active students will be charged non-member fees for any events/activities they attend.

Tuition
Tuition is based on 48 weeks of classes per year, an average of 4 weeks of classes per month. (Some months you will have 5 classes and some months you will have 3.) Scheduled make ups are listed on the calendar of events.
LATE FEE POLICY (effective September 1st, 2024)
For families not set up on Autopay, the late fee structure has been modified as follows:
* a $25 late fee will be incurred if tuition is not received by the 5th of the month
* an additional $25 late fee will be incurred if payment is not received by the 10th of the month
* if payments are not received by the 15th of the month, the child will be dropped from the classes (es) he/she is enrolled in - please be aware that we cannot guarantee space availability for re-enrollment if you child is dropped from a class.
Statements are emailed to customers. It is recommended and encouraged that tuition is processed through the Electronic Funds Checking Transfer System. Our EFT system is 100% safe and confidential. Customers enrolled in EFT have the added benefit of charging pro shop items and other fees to their account. Westside Academy also accepts checks and cash. Credit & Debit cards are not accepted. Workshops, Camps, Parents Night Out, Birthday Parties and Lunch Bunch are not eligible for additional discounts that aren’t already disclosed.

Recital and Gym Fest Fees
On November 1st, a costume fee will be charged to all dance students for each class in which they are enrolled. On March 1st, a Gym Fest participation fee (includes a uniform and an award) will be charged to all gymnastics students. Fees are non-refundable once processed. Students must be enrolled in their class through the month of June in order to participate in the year-end events.
Missed Classes
We do not pro-rate for missed classes, including classes affected by inclement weather or a pandemic. Make ups for missed classes are not guaranteed - we will do our best to accommodate missed classes, especially for illness, but it does depend on class availability. Students are allowed 1 make up class per month, per class that they are enrolled in. If you cancel a make up class once it has been scheduled, you forfeit that make up. All make ups need to be completed within a two month timeframe of the missed class. Please see below for department make up allowances:
SUMMER MAKE UP CLASSES: students may make up 2 classes per month (pending availability), but they must be completed before the end of the summer. Make up classes should be scheduled 48-72hrs in advance. Customers who try to schedule a make up class the day of a desired class are not guaranteed a response that day.
* Recreational Dance and Gymnastics - make up classes (subject to space) should be scheduled by emailing cberg@westsideacademy.com
* Performing Arts Preschool - make up classes can be done by joining Indoor Play Park or our afternoon Preschool Activity Camp. All make ups should be scheduled by emailing kschmidt@westsideacademy.com
* Accelerated/PC Dance - make up classes can only be set up by emailing either mgloria@westsideacademy.com or bhampton@westsideacademy.com so that they can determine the best class for you
* Accelerated Gymnastics - make up classes (subject to space) can only be scheduled by emailing Andrea at avidovic@westsideacademy.com
* Xcel Gymnastics - make up classes (subject to space) can only be scheduled by emailing Kaelyn at kperson@westsideacademy.com
* Team Gymnastics - no make ups are possible for team gymnasts
All make-ups are forfeited if the student drops from the program. Westside has a no refund policy.
Adding, Dropping or Transferring Classes
The customer is responsible for notifying the office of any changes to their child’s enrollment. No tuition refunds will be given once a new month has started. If a student drops mid-month, they will be eligible for an in-house credit on their account only. This may be applied to any future classes or events. Please note that all make ups are forfeited at the time you drop your class (please note new policy beginning September 1st).

If we are not notified by the last day of the month to drop a class, tuition will be automatically charged on the 1st of the month. No tuition refunds will be given once a new month has started. If a student drops a class after the 1st of the month, an administrative fee of $15 will be charged, and a pro-rated in-house credit (less the administrative fee) will be given on their account only. This credit may be applied to any future classes or events. No account adjustments will be made for classes dropped after the 15th of the month. Note that you will forfeit all make-ups when you drop your class.
NSF Payment
A $38.00 fee will be charged to your account for each transaction that is returned “Insufficient Funds” or for any other reason.
Session Lengths
We have two main schedules - one runs the school year from September - June and the other is our summer schedule, which runs July - August. Once students enroll, we assume they will remain in the class the duration of the session, UNLESS you notify us prior to month’s end that you will be discontinuing. If not, tuition is expected on the 1st of each month. Westside has a no refund policy.
Parking
Additional parking is available in the Tigard Cinema lot. Please refrain from parking in the Tri-Met lot or you may be towed.
Inclement Weather
Westside Academy follows the Tigard-Tualatin School District for weather closures only. If Tigard-Tualatin School District is closed due to weather, the Academy will be closed until 2:00pm. At that time an email will be sent notifying customers of the evening schedule. If Tigard-Tualatin opens 2 hrs late, we will open at 10:30am. There will be no Performing Arts Preschool, Lunch Bunch or Preschool Activity Camp that day. For weekend classes, please check your e-mail for timely updates and notifications. You can also call the Academy and check our recorded voice message.
News & Information
Westside sends out regular emails to keep parents informed of upcoming events, classroom activities and general academy information. Please make sure we have your accurate email on file.
Lost & Found
Please check lost and found bins located in the restrooms for any left behind items.
Viewing Areas
Parents are allowed to watch gymnastics classes from the upstairs viewing area only. The gymnastics area also utilizes SpotTV to view your gymnast in action. Details will be sent to each customer at registration. Recreational dance classes have Parent Watch days a couple times each year, in addition to our annual Dance Recital in June.
Parent Watch Week
Dance parents will be allowed to view the last 15 minutes of class twice a year - in November and April. See our calendar for details.
Pets
Pets are not allowed in our facility with the exception of those used for assistance.
Camp Cancellation Policy
An in-house credit will be given to students who give 1 week prior notification for all camp cancellations. We have a no refund policy. No camp refunds will be given once a new month has started.
